Name a bit confusing

I've just discovered what preregistration means in the research/publication field. However, by only reading the name a lot of people (included me) can't imagine something that comes close to its meaning without knowing it previously.

For me, it sounds like when you have to buy something in advance or subscribe to a certain service before it is accessible. Maybe some of you have a proposal of a more specific name that does not need definition.

Perhaps a management plan which could then be composed of a data management plan and a software management plan

Good point Ivan and I like your suggestion Jean-Yves! Maybe a methods management plan or a hypothesis registration would work as well.
