Hi Georgy, Derek, Nicole and all participants,

Sorry I'm late arriving to the summer school - I forgot basically with everyone at home :)

I've decided to try out Adobe Illustrator (AI) and am possibly thinking of using it for a future graphic design business.

I've toyed with this idea before as I really like the idea before and have designed hand made wedding stationery before so it may possibly be bespoke wedding stationery?

My niece is getting married next year and I may use this as a project!

I've just downloaded a 7 day trial for AI, so here goes!

Has anyone else used AI for this or similar purposes / or anything else?

Bye for now ;)

Hi Amanda,

I am also late to the party, I am just back from leave today.

I have used Illustrator before, but I am possibly stuck in the possibilities it offered 10 years ago when I was using it more than now.

But if there are any questions on it, I am happy to discuss this with you.

Best Nicole

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to attend.  I don’t know how I did it, but I somehow managed to get an old rugby shoulder injury to flare up. I spent the weekend on co-codamol.

I have had a very busy week working on a TMA, preparing for an EMA and also with work work.

I apologise that I haven’t got the CAD course done yet, but I’ve finished the preparation and I just need to do it.

As for my summer school project, it’s in hand.  I hope to upload to ODS very soon!

Best wishes,

Stuart

Hi Nicole,

Thanks for your reply, so far I've found that wedding stationery templates need to be paid for and have yet to see if / how I can make a card so this would be a great starting point.

I'm following the online tutorials and have found out how to modify fonts and had a little play which was good as I've wanted to know how to do this as well. Maybe I'll design a 'new normal' project poster with a social interaction twist if I cant find a way to design wedding stationery!

Great to hear from you again!

Amanda

PS Although my design module days are now over, I am still drawn to this rather than my final module's holiday activity (history of art) which tells me something! 8-)
