Proper planning may be part of the solution. You will agree with me that LCE may need more that than the setting in which the teacher does all the talking and all that the students do is to take note. There will need for time management to ensure that  the teacher treats all that he intends to teach a period,  listen and take all the contributions of the students.

I agree with Bilkisu that LCE has to take place within the aloted time for teaching, this does not necessaroly have to encroach into other teachers'/subjects' time. Effective deployment of time and resources is essential for success.

Abdulkadir - this is a great question! Thank you.

I agree with Bilkisu - LCE requires careful planning. It also requires a mindset in which it is not seen as something extra that the teacher as to do as well as deliver a lecture or dictate notes - it is instead of those things, so needs to have the same learning outcomes. It should be noted however, that by working in a more participatory manner, there are more opportunities for formative assessment. You won't need to wait until a formal test to find out what students know, and will be bale to adjust teaching to help them learn more effectively.

The solution to time constraints are;

- adaptation of the school curriculum to meet the needs of all the learners that reflects on specific skills and values.

- Ensure resources are available.

- Proper planning of lesson activities will save.  time

Solution to time constrains in LCE

The only solution to time constrain is proper planning with the little time you have as a teacher.

Plan your lesson with activities, Materials that may be needed and plan with the children too. Involve them in what you may need and allocate time for each and every activity.
