Activity 1.1 Feeling excluded

I felt very excluded in my Tongan lessons in my very early years at the Girls college I attended( age 11-14) because the teacher spoke fast when teaching .I was not able to comprehend during the lesson because I was raised abroad and English was my first language. I was always sad in the class and my teacher never had time to help me at all. I was very embarrassed to say or answer anything  in case I said something incorrectly. I wished I had a close friend to help in the class ,also the teacher to have some extra time with me in the class ,it would have made things more easier to me.

In my final year at Girls College(Form 5) I felt excluded in our maths group discussion. At times I would sit and watch the our group. They would be busy doing our maths problem while I had no idea what was going on. I would end up coping the answer, but no one would want to explain to me how the maths problem was solved. Most of the time in our maths grouping I did not know anything. I always wished the teacher had time to explain things to me or put me in a group that was willing to help me.

In my first year as an Education Officer in our Ministry of Education, at times the Senior Ed.Officers would not let me know events or school visits that where to be carried out besides my day to day task that was expected of me .I would find out a day later. It made me feel sad at times. So I would ask my team leader everyday before I started my daily routine for the extra tasks expected in the week.
