When I felt excluded

When I joined high school in an area where they used a different mother tongue from mine. I was a minority and whenever they switched to their language I felt lonely and foreigner.

You raise a really important point, Florence. I think language is one of the main reasons for which people may feel excluded.

Language is a critical issue in exclusion/inclusion discourse, how do we get over this? Consider a scenario where a learner is still deficient in the language of instruction? This is prevailing in rural African settings, and the official policy does not favour the use of mother tongue!
