Week 2 Reflection Point on my own experience with LCE

My teachers both in primary and secondary school did not embrace the LCE.

The teachers had too much pressure to finish the syllabus and to make students pass in examinations such that they largely used transmission methods of teaching. The teachers never valued the experiences we brought to class as learners, neither did they consider our uniqueness and varied abilities.

I strongly agree with you. My experience also.,because they need famous to get more students in the private tuition classes, where is earn more money.

Good teacher is a facilitator to the students.

Thanks Sinnathurai for your point. My take and resolve is  to teach my learners differently from the way I was taught.  With the awareness  about inclusive education, we need to stir change wherever we are.

My own experience

In primary school it was more of the teacher doing the talking and almost everything and the student listening and taking notes.sometimes the teachers would use group work but it was not commonly used because of time and syllabus coverage. All the attention and focus was the teacher but things are changing now and even teaching techniques are changing to the right side of the line.

Rose yes LCE is a challenge. But i have decided to try it as much as possible even as i run to cover course content because i would like the student teachers emulate LCE and practice it in class when they start teaching.

I like  your approach Florence. I also try to model LCE as I teach too. We cannot afford to drink wine and preach water at the same time.
