When I felt excluded

When I was doing my first degree in India, in one of the units, the lecturer taught us using Hindi language because I was the only foreigner in class. I felt so excluded.

Language can be a serious issue that leaves one excluded, its worse when in a foreign land, but not any better even where you attend a class where jargons are used.

I can imagine how lost you  felt  Lynett !. Lack of understanding a language can truly  hinder the learning process.

True Lynett. Language can really lock a learner out of the teaching and learning process. What did you do do ensure you were included?

Yes language can make one feel lonely in a crowd. I felt excluded when colleagues used their mother tongue in office and i was the only one who did not know what the discussion was about.
I continued with the assignment and they used the language i could understand when they got stuck and sort my views. I seemed to have got it right and they stopped using a language i did not understand.
