In Kenya there is language policy for inclusion of children in lower primary transiting from home to school. The language of instruction in early years is the language of catchment area of the school, which is the language used by the community near the school, which could be mother tongue, English or Kiswahili but parents insist that their children must speak English. From upper primary the language of instruction is English or Kiswahili
