Activity 3.7Inclusivity challenges

Part 1: Thinking about your challenges

1. (a) The three most significant challenges in my own context

  • visual impairment
  • being in a large class
  • hunger or poverty
    (b) How to tackle each one above
         (i) The visually challenged learner should sit in front of the
classroom and be given books with large print, as well the
teacher write on the chalkboard using large print.
(ii) Being in a large class: this issue could be tabled for
discussion in one of the staff meetings so that the authority
might do something. Splitting class would require additional
teachers which may already be not adequate.
(iii) Poverty or hunger: this could be dealt with by organizing the
community to start school feeding programmes.

2.  The visual impairment challenge require a specialist.
