Activity 2.3 Where are you on the line

1. Extrinsic learner motivation/intristic learner motivation.

I believe that I am more of intristic learner motivation.

2. Teacher is the expert-main

authority/ teacher as facilitator of learning

Even though my background it is more of the grown up is always the authority. Learning from children is very much possible and an area that I am ready to keep embracing.

3. Syllabus presented as decontexualised/syllabus refelects lives of learners.

4. Learning as an individual cognitive activity/learning as a social activity

I am 50/50 here as i believe learning does not have to happen in a group and I also find that learning in groups allowas others to share their experience, opens room for discussion as well as assist other learners where assistance is needed. I persoannly can learn from both and learn from meditation too therefore individual time is also valued but not the only time one can learn.

5. Relationship based authority/relationship based on mutual respect.

I believe that all relationships are formed naturally and are based on mutual respect.

6. Intelligence is fixed at birth/everyone can learn given the right support

I believe that everyone can learn given the right support. I embrace the new curriculum in Kenya CBC as it enables learners to keep being assisted in the areas that they show strengths. Strength is however relative and not only learners who are strog accademically need to be supported to excel. Atually it doesnt equate to intelligence.
