This Continuum or this imaginary line truly brings back thoughts of my teaching style and methods in my early years of teaching in the Primary classroom.
I see myself in the middle of the line. At times I would be on the right and then would divert to the left .This idea of learning centred approach certainly remind us to believe that ALL learners can learn and are given the appropriate support. I believe I was mixture of the two.
There were times I thought I was the expert instead of allowing the children to share their knowledge and experiences they brought into the classroom because I believed that that intelligence is fixed at birth. Through the instructions I gave to be followed immediately and tests I provided did not reflect I was a facilitator for learning .There were days when I allowed the children to work together and talk and think about their ideas and relate it to their everyday life also share their knowledge .Therefore I am happy that this imaginary line reminds me as Inclusive Education Officer to be move more to the right in all that I will share and carry out in my Inclusive Education support in the classroom to the learners
