The Justification of LCE as Policy Coice

Equips learners with 21st Century skills. These skills empowers them For life and give them capabilities to actively participate in the 21st Century knowledge economy.

Promotes meaningful learning. What learners learn in school is useful in learners day to day life and hence they find sense in learning.

Free them from teacher authoritarianism and strict curricula that do not reflect on their personal needs. This promotes democracy and Global citizenship.

Well said Mutisya. There are many justifications for LCD. The promotion of meaningful learning which in return eliminated rote learning is key.

1. It is crucial to consider the learning needs of learners and teacher to assist them to learn. This will surely promote learning centre and to move away from teacher deciding what the learner should learn.

2.  Teachers should consider learners capabilities and to further develop more activities to support learners to learn

3. Independence learning is beneficial but learners should be well prepared for it
