Activity 4.3: Understanding OER

Internet connectivity is critical for institutional utilization of OERs. In my institution we are connected with high speed internet and have an OER repository which can be accessed from any where. To maximumly utilize OER, educators and learners should be trained on how to access OER. Teacher should know how to map OER to the topics and where to access relevant OERs. Teachers and learners should be familiar with the different licenses associated with OERs. Institutions need to come up with policies on use of OERs

Good contribution Sammy. There is need to creat awareness and increase knowledge about OER at all levels of education.  How can this be done at minimum cost keeping in mind lack of finances in many institutions?

I do agree with you Sammy. Internet connectivity and capacity building are critical in effective utilization of OERs.

I do agree with Sammy, Florence and David but i think since OERs are the way to go to better education especially with COVID SSA had better prioritize OER access. To me the major issue is prioritizing. I believe governments and education institutions as well as many individuals have capacity to ensure good learning resources are accessed by users to better education. Change of attitude is key. We can't keep crying.
