2.8 Challenges of LCE in my context

Teacher preparation to be LC is lacking. Teachers are unprepared to meet learning needs of children as as a result practice teacher centred.

Teachers are always present in the classroom without any preparation of activities to engage children, or develop children capabilities, or develop problem solving of critical thinking. The whole day teaching is teacher centred.

Assessment in the classroom is not inclusive, it is content assessment. Teacher is testing what she/he has taught the children

Also the overcrowding classrooms still exist where teachers found it hard to have one to one time with children not do group activities because there is not enough space in the classroom

Yes Matelita, that is the how it is in most SSA countries. Based on Think pieces what do you suggest could be done to make LCE work in situations you have clearly highlighted  up there?
