Activity 3.1 - What does active teaching look like?

  • What active learning you have used and what worked well and why?

Group work was used for a research assignment to determine  the health  effects               of  spending too much time on the computer.

  • What behaviour or activities  are easy to notice?

This activity stimulated interest and kept the students engaged  and on task.

  • Which attitudes are more difficult to detect and why?

Because of the number of students in a group, it was difficult to determine the                     contribution made by each student in the group.

Good contribution Homad. What suggestions do you think can work to help a teacher be able to determine individual learner's participation in a group?

Will probably need the assistance of the group leader to furnish that information.

Each group leader would need to submit a report on members participation during the activity.

Good suggestion Homad. What about reducing number of students in a group and allocating tasks to the group in which every member's contribution is noted?  Could this work in determining individual learner participation?
