Activity 1.7 Inclusive principles in practice

The activities assisted me in better preparing and catering for all needs. It has also given me the opportunity to share what I have learnt and understood with others. we discussed and plan to implement what we learnt in our classrooms and at school.

In the case study:

  • wave 1: Clifford identified that Molly was having difficulties to perform to her true potential and investigated the cause of the problem. upon identifying the cause of the problem he did what he could do as the teacher by allowing her to sit at the front of the classroom, he used more discussions instead of written, he used support peer groups, prepared local materials and organized lesson instructions to meet her needs.
  • wave 2: Clifford informed all stakeholders about his findings; teachers, parents, friends and communities who pooled their skills and resources to help Molly achieve. In the end everyone was happy because everyone in the class benefitted.
  • wave 3: A specialist visited the school to assist Molly and to support.

At my workplace some of these interventions happen but we are lacking in wave 2.
