Times when I felt excluded

My most recent experience with exclusion was when I was an undergrad. I was juggling raising 2 infant children and I had an afternoon course where I had to go pick one up from school. Like any semester I spoke with the lecturer as a matter of courtesy. He said he was ok with it, but every time I had to slip out to go pick up my child, he would make snarky comments. When it came to group assignments, apparently all the mothers ended up in the same group. Whenever we tried to seek clarity on topics, he would shun us. When presentation day came up, our group was pressed the most, and things that he let slide with other presentations, we felt the brunt of it in our grades.

Hi Jeniece, I am sorry you had to experience that. As I read your post I though of how ignorant and insensitive that professor was and I understand how much more challenging it was for you because of his behavior.  I hope that we can make a change by fairly including all our students.

Regards

Nisher:-)

Exclusion - Adults and Kids

As Teachers, this experience of Exclusion you had as an adult, must make us mindful of what all our children in class have to go through. There are many things at home and sometimes at school, going on in their minds that will prevent them from performing well in school.
