Education Policies

In my country, Belize education is compulsory between the ages of 6 and 14 years for primary education. Children of ages 5 to 14 years must be  attending school.

Education policies help define rules, regulations, procedures and protocols for schools. These are necessary to help schools run smoothly and safely and ensure that students receive a quality education.

The government of Belize ensures that each District Education Center in the country carries out system that is inclusive.

The impact of these policies provides the education of all children with special educational needs. This policy responds to changing priorities and national aspirations as well as international development trends in provisions for inclusive education.

At this time many teachers in my country are engage in professional development workshops to develop knowledge in working with students with special needs and cater with a variety of strategies, approaches to accommodate our children.

Our children of all abilities have equal access to and participate meaningfully in child care programs. We believe that all children need support to reduce or eliminate barriers so they can learn and fully engage in experiences with their peers. Adaptations and strategies are specific to each child and it is a priority in educating children with special needs.
