1.6 Involving All

Dear Colleagues,

Taken from the film clips these were the strategies noted:

The teachers –

Looked at different aids to help with writing

Assessed students individual needs and decided the class best suited for the students

Grouped only 1 or 2 students with high support needs in any of their given classroom grouping plan

Sought much support from parents

Worked closely with parents and therapists

Ensured that they knew/were informed of the disabilities which they were adjusting to

Used an array of strategies to aid students’ concentration skills

Spoke to others/Maintained collaboration with other professionals

Continued to ask questions

Be prepared.

Planned lessons with a variety of activities

Established routine of taking turn but not letting the students with attention disorders waiting too long to be included in class discussion

Designated tasks, avoid desk clutter, use of screens to aid concentration

Use reward systems for and praise for all the students

Be consistent in daily classroom routines
