Education in Nigeria is said to be the right of every Nigerian irrespective of gender, social status, religion, ethnic background and any peculiar individual challenges.
The goals of education in Nigeria includes:
1. Development of the individual into a morally sound, patriotic and effective citizen.
2. Total integration of the individual into the immediate community, society and the world.
3. Provision of equal access to qualitative educational opportunities for all citizens at all levels of education within and outside the formal school system.
4. Development of appropriate skills, mental, physical and competencies to empower the individual to live in and contribute positively to the society.
The impact of these policies includes:
1. There is free, universal basic education for every Nigerian child of school age.
2. There is great improvememt in job creation and skills training.
3. Advancement of technologies at all school levels.
I think the government needs to encourage the education of the girl child. They should facilitate and provide the necessary materials for inclusive learning.
They should train and employ more capable teachers at all school levels.
