1.5 What does the Waves Intervention model mean for me

The Wave Intervention Model means that all children even disabled are included in the classroom

Wave 1 - focuses on mainstream teachers and aims to dispel the assumption that children with disability needed teachers who had training.

Wave 2 - deals with the stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, business personal). it focuses on the quality of education directly supporting the learner as it runs alongside Wave 1. it also requires additional support.

Wave 3 -  relatively small number of children will need specialist support to access the curriculum

it is clear that, when children with disabilities access educational provision and are engaged meaningfully in this process with quality teaching and learning, their outcomes are enhanced.
