Activity 2.1 - What else do you think they could do?

They have done it all. I think the MOE in Trinidad and Tobago have covered all aspects to ensure that no child is left behind.  It is not just about students with disabilities but quality education for all recognizing that every child can learn.  Inclusion is a work in progress.

Hi Angela,

Thanks for sharing.

I strongly agree with your expressed sentiments that inclusive education is a work in progress in Trinidad & Tobago.

I also strongly hold to the view that if fellow colleagues continue to engage in researching the idea/concept for validity and relevance regard their current classroom practices and are motivated to make a conscious effort to change their mind-set which in turn, will eventually change their views, which will influence their informed practices, this may be a good place to start welcoming the concept of Inclusive Education in our mainstream schools.

I also agree that much has been done to facilitate universal inclusion of diverse learners.  However, there is still a lingering perception that it is not the task of main stream teachers to facilitate learners with disabilities.  I believe that more has to be done to ensure that all stakeholders in education understand and apply the practical measures that can be used immediately to ensure that learners with special needs are not left out of the incorporation of universal access.
