Active teaching

As a subject teacher, most times I normally have a discussion class where the students are allowed to contribute their own opinions.

Also I make sure to give them assignments, where they will go and research about a particular topic and bring their suggestions.

These methods have really helped them a lot to be more focused in class. But during my discussion class I found out that there are some students that don't like to participate unless you push them to contribute.

Active teaching

Hi I am Yesenia Chan from Belize. I agree with your point of view. I am a primary school teacher and normally teacher different subjects but I have also experience subject teaching whereby I use to teach only Language Arts to my group of students from 3 different classes. It was challenging but at the same time it was fun and interesting. I give the opportunity for Learners to have time to think and process information before answering any question in class to have more students participating. Yes at times I will normally have the same students answering and other were just silent so I had to use paleta sticks with their names on it so whenever I picked a paleta stick a name will come out and that student will be the one answering. This helped me have all my students participate in a fair manner.
