Inclusive learning and Attitude according to Daniel is that teachers should value all individuals and the experiences that they bring to the classroom, value a range of skills and competencies and see themselves as facilitators of learning and a learner themselves.
Daniel is also of the view that teachers should change their mindsets and believe that every child can learn if given the right support.
He wants teachers to change their attitudes towards learner capacity because given the right support they will learn. The use of differentiation should be initiated in the classroom.
Daniel also lamented on the beliefs that some parents have about children with disabilities; disabilities are contagious.
I think that :
- class meetings and educating the parents and erasing the ignorance of disabilities should be erased from the minds of the parents.
- formation of support groups including all stake holders can be of great help.
- Also training and educating of all stake holders to join hands and work together on how to deal with children with disabilities will also help in them accepting and seeing them as humans who needs to be given an equal opportunity to access quality education
