Activity1.4

Lesson learnt in this week’s activities are as follows:

·         The wave model  is all practical approach to creating an all inclusive classroom

·         All  the three waves as interrelated in that the first wave brings on board  all learners the learners through quality teaching in a mainstream classroom where all the individual needs are attended to

·         All teachers should be able to make the adjustment without any training

·         Wave two is the identification of learner needs and support that should be given to the targeted learners

·         While wave three calls for a specialized intervention for a small group of learners who have complicated disabilities .At this level a specialist is required to facilitate learning and use of the assistive equipment eg braille machines  magnifying  glasses

NEW IDEAS

·         Use of  increased group work /child to child, adjusting sitting arrangement, taking time to find out why some learners perform poorly  in class eg Molly and find solution on how to support them.

·         This week’s activities have made me feel am included and not excluded for example I am taking this course at my own pace at my convenient time and that this programme is flexible.
