3.7 Inclusivity challenges

The three main challenges that we are faced on a daily basis is one being in a large classroom, two low literacy rate and difficult home lives as well as hunger and poverty.

How to tackle the challenges we are faced with?

The first challenge is being in a large classroom or what we in our country call an over crowded classroom.  If I get a big classroom one thing I can do to ensure that no child is left behind is to make sure that I do group activities with the use of resources and make sure that behaviors are properly managed because that is key.

The second challenge is low literacy rate and how I tackle this is to have reading interventions to help those children who are struggling and to bring them up to par.

The third challenge is hunger and poverty. As a teacher I go into my own pocket to make sure that when a student come to school without breakfast or have nothing to eat at lunch time I make sure they eat because no child can learn on an empty stomach.

When it comes to literacy we sometimes need to get a child assessed to see exactly what learning disability that child has that is hindering learning.
