Activity 3.1 Wrong behaviours
The two wrong
behaviours I chose were number 1 and 10.
1)
Learners always work in silence.
I think that teachers can
allow students to work with other students and discuss ideas and have fun as
they learn. This will promote a love for learning and language development. At the
early childhood level spoken words
are opportunities for learning that should take place throughout the day. Learning
takes place through conversation between children and between children and
teachers. This will also help with speech delays in children.
10) Teachers always ask closed questions
with a yes no right or wrong answer
Teachers should ask
questions for a number of reasons such as to engage and challenge students, determine
prior knowledge, to create new understanding and to help students extend their
thinking to name a few.
Examples of open-ended
questions are: Which of the three little pigs do you think was the smartest? And
why? Or How do you think the pigs built their houses so quickly?
This type of
questioning will help to develop higher order thinking skills.
