Feeling included

I felt included when my big brother allowed me to walk home with him and his friends after school. I felt that I was part of something special, I was walking with the big boys and girls. To this day, some 30 years after, the memory of walking home from school with my brother and his friends, makes me smile and feel happy inside. So, when we include students with special needs in our environment it will give them a feeling of inclusion into something special. Also, when we include students with special needs in our environment it will build their self-confidence and make them smile for years to come.
