4.7. Action planning for inclusive teaching and learning

This course have definitely impacted me when it comes to inclusion because I am now better equip with knowledge, skills and attitude when it comes to Inclusive Education.  As a teacher for many years we are always looking for ways in which we can help our students to excel in the classroom because I know that all students can learn and that they just need the right support from teachers.

This course highlighted some resources, strategies and activities that I can use to be more effective.  I especially like the OERs that I can access to retrieve ideas and strategies to use.

I learnt that it is important to adopt the curriculum to meet the needs of all students and that reflection of each lesson is key to assess what worked and what didn’t work and so what I can change and what I can keep for future lessons.

I can incorporate more resources in my lessons, so peer tutoring, do group work with mixed abilities, challenge them to think analytically through inquiry based lessons and ask open ended questions to develop their thinking skills required for independent problem-solving and promote  lifelong learning.
