Activity 4.7 Action planning for inclusive teaching and learning

Dear Colleagues,

The idea presented in the course has affected my view of inclusion in that- the struggles undertaken to establish inclusive education policies in different countries are on-going. This is so because different specialists in the divergent fields (medical, political, societal and educational) are yet to see inclusion in its entirety, and as necessary in our mainstream educational institutions. Also, I have to now reset and accept that it is the responsibility of all teachers to embrace and execute the principles of inclusiveness in all our classrooms, through strategies that promote inclusive behaviours.

In my effort to make my teaching more learner-centred in the future, I will:

1.      Continue to adapt effective classroom behaviours that would help my student feel less excluded and more included.

2.      Attend to learners in my class according to their individuality and their academic needs.

3.      Make the conscious effort to make use of the many school resources to which I was introduce to.

4.      Work on creating a classroom environment that reflects inclusivity for each learner.
