Because I deal with children between the ages of 3 – 5years of age these are the challenges I face in my context:

1.Low literacy levels. I tackle this by using voice messages on parents’ cell phones or by speaking to the parent individually about anything where reading is involved.

2.Difficult home lives. I often would be a listening ear and would often have pamphlets on hand from different government agencies on hand pointing parents to the right help.

3.Hunger and/or poverty. Most times children would be enrolled in the school feeding program and we as a staff would put together our resources to have a fruit/snack for children who may be in need. We would also ask a ‘sponsor’ who would help with uniform and school supplies for each term.
