GROUP WORK

Groupwork can be used effectively for teaching and learning. More work can be covered in a short time.

Thought must be given to careful planning and implementation of group work. Mixed ability grouping is likely to benefit all the learners.

Example: In a Geography lesson, learners can be grouped to study the weather patterns on a particular day each one looking at a specific weather element and recording  characteristics: Temperature, rainfall, cloud cover, wind etc. Discussion among students enhances social interaction and collaboration in the learning process, development of ideas through discussion and some arguments sometimes.
