I just recently found out about the Overleaf online latex editor, a tool which allows for easy collaborative writing of scientific papers:

Several people can work on a project even at the same time and the tool will automatically track changes. It's kind of slow with compiling but otherwise works pretty fine. Unfortunately, the service it not free, it costs about 14 - 28 € per month. However, your university might already offer accounts for students and employees, as it was the case for me.
