      After studying this course, you should be able to:

      • explain the historical background of Vannam dances and it's legend
      • understand the art of Sinhala music and the main components of Vannam dances
      • differentiate between 18 principle Vannam dances, its meaning and moods depicted in Kavi
      • apply theoretical knowledge gained throughout module when learning Vannam dances using the videos provided as aid

      Thank you for yet another brilliant course on Kandyan dance theory - this course being about the 18 vannams. I particularly enjoyed the clips showing performances of each of the vannams and the description of the stories behind them. Looking forward to completing the final part soon!
