This is the recital of the emerald stone, Vairodi which is the green cat’s eye, considered a precious gem. Picturing the palace of God Iswara, at the top of Mount Kailasa, this vannama is just as vibrant like the Emerald. Concluding with the moral ‘the wicked make false boasts and are detestable – the learned are always triumphant’ – this vannama is one of the most graceful out of all. Its also been spelt ‘Virodi’, ‘Wairodi’ and ‘Wirodi’ in various sites.
