Consider times when people have deliberately included you.

I am from one of the small islands in  our country Tonga called Vava'u.In 1999 the first time for me to move to the main island Tongatapu to attend the Tonga Institute of Education(teachers training institute).I moved to live with my aunty and her family which I have never met before.I felt homesick when I left my home Vavau. But once I reached Tongatapu I was warmly welcome by my aunty's family they all came(8 of them) to greet me at the airport.I felt included to their family. Not only that but when I entered the Tonga Institue of Education wow totally new colleagues. While feeling lonely one teacher came and invited me to join her in her office. So in her office there were students there .They greeted me and we became friends. This time I felt really included and completed successfully my studied after 3 years.

Being included can serve as morale booster and enhance self esteem.

Lucky you! I don't see your case as being excluded, but probably, first...
