1.2 Feeling Included

1.I recall at 8 years old learning to fry an egg. My younger sister was always good in doing little cooking chores our mum would teach us during the week. I seem to be clumsy or never got right. I always wanted to be like my sister. My mother would talk to me in extra encouraging tone in her voice and willing to show me again in the weekends by frying dad's egg. My mother using kind words instead of yelling at me when the egg would spill on the floor before going on the pan or when I would pour too much oil in the pan. The repetition of demonstration and showing me and having time to explain to me step by step ,it truly made me feel good and happy. My mother's consistent assistance and having more time with me and giving my sister another cooking task to do ,it allowed me to improve and know how to fry an egg. It was wonderful experience when I finally was able to fry eggs for my mum, sister, dad and me.

2.I felt included when I was allowed to join the swimming club for our class at class 3 and class 4.I wanted to be a good swimmer like Rebecca in the other class 3.Our swimming teacher was so great. She would join me in the water in all our swimming practises  after school and in our swimming lessons after lunch in the pool. The swimming teacher was  checking on me, her words of encouragement and showing me the breaststroke and  butterfly strokes each time I did it wrong, showing me how to put my head in the water and controlling my breathing and providing this  extra support  on my leg kicking. In 2 months of full support ,clear explanation and showing me how to do my breaststroke and butterfly strokes.

It quickly improved my swimming skills at class 3, which gave me the opportunity to join our yearly swimming competition in the last term of school in class 3 and class 4.It was a great feeling when I came first in our breaststroke heat and second in the Butterfly heat. I was second to Rebecca when I competed with her but I was  very happy to be given the opportunity  to be included in the swimming club
