Activity 3.2 Observing teaching. which is the most difficult to observe?

Looking at the World Bank teaching observation tool 9 criteria, I think Critical Thinking would be the most difficult to observe. It may not be crystal clear to tell when a student is critically thinking or not.

What is your view?

3.2 Observing teaching

I agree that critical thinking would be the hardest to observe because we can’t see what they are thinking it’s only when we ask them to explain what they are thinking that we would know.

3.2 Observing Teaching

I do agree with this observation as well. You can't tell if the child was thinking critically. Maybe, when the child speak or write about it then the teacher will know.

This is very true as not all students show critical thinking.

In  my view, a learner's critical thinking can be observed in the manner that  :

- a learner responds to open ended questions.

-perform thinking tasks

-asks a teacher a well thought open ended question.
