Activity 3.8 Supporting learners with specific needs in a mainstream classroom

Two ways in which a learner with hearing impairment could be supported in a normal classroom

 

Teacher could sit the learner in front for eye-to-eye contact with the teacher, and then use a range of communication medium – e.g., sign language, communication board

Teacher ensures the desk is tidy to avoid distracting the learner. Teacher could use peer support by allowing the learner child to copy his/her peers
