b. Choosing the most appropriate assessment for each child.
c. Developing skills in other non accademic acitivities e.g music, art etc as children have different stengths and needs.
3. How do these strategies compare to the recommendations of the wave model.
I note that each school use at the very first attempt including each learner while using what is locally available which is an intervention in Wave 1 of Sarton and Smith. Other interventions that are sseen to be common include improved use of learning aids made out of local material, communication boards, using peer support and group works, giving resposnible tasks to learners with concentarion challenges to keep them invloved, use of separtion boards to encouarge learners to concentrate, rewards systems and praise, a learner with a hearing problem and does not like using hearing aids is encourahed to seat infront anf the teacher speaks loudly and clearly for the learner to hear as well doing a recap before the beging of each lesson to ensure that all students are on the same page in terms of understanding the previous loesson before moving to the next lesson.
Other interventions that are used which are noted in the Wave model intervention of Sarton and Smith are working closely with parents and outside organisation for support and for resources which is an engagement initiative. Collaborations ans support from parents who do not have chidren with disablities is also encouraged. Lastly, I also note that the cirriculum is designed to fit the level of education of the learners in the area.
