Activity 1.8 – A vision for Inclusive Education

Daniel’s Key Points

1) Children, once they arrive into the school system, are taken as individuals and not as groups.

2) Individualizing teaching according to the needs of each child.

3) Where there is evidence of adequate preparation for each topic for each child.

4) Materials made for individual students according to their ability levels, according to their needs.

5) Evaluation of children is done according to objectives that were set for individual children.  Evaluation should be learner-based rather than group-based.

6) Teachers have to be able to adapt content.  Teachers must be trained, be prepared and be able to welcome everybody into their classrooms.  This will set the classroom climate for children to be able to be comfortable.
