At the secondary school in which I teach, many teachers are accustomed to teaching the way they were taught which is teacher-centered. It is difficult to change their mindset, however, this can be done through a course offered at the University of the West Indies which focuses on LCE. This course, a Diploma in education, has been very instrumental in my growth as a teacher in a secondary school and I will continue to recommend it to persons getting into this profession.
