Dear colleagues,
My adjustments to the narratives are as followed:
1.
The Cognition Narrative suggests building
more activity oriented and engaging lessons on learners’ capabilities and
interests that would help them develop problem-solving and application skills for
more meaningful learning. (This is where I think the learning process should begin, it must
have some meaning to the learners).
2.
The Preparation
Narrative
focuses on the need for learners to develop ‘21st century skills such as critical
thinking, independent research, and flexibility which reduces content-based
learning and encourages independence and collaboration rather than reliance on
the teacher and text. (The process will entail working with and valuing others input
as well as personal contributions during the learning process).
3.
The Emancipatory
Narrative
is based on protecting learners’ rights while developing the skills and
attitudes that promote democratic citizenship by putting more decisions in the
hands of learners through application of learner-centred approaches. (This I think is the end product. as it should result in democratic citizenship which should be the right of all humans).
