I understand that OERs are important because it allows educators to access resources in an appropriate way and ensuring creators are credited for their content.  It provides free resources that teachers can access once properly trained, as it plays an important aspect of the growth and development of teachers. It can also encourage teachers to create content without fear of plagerism issues which inturn can simply lead to more resources for educators.
