Active learning is evident through the lower primary teacher  being able to divide the big crowded group into smaller teachable groups.

There's group work and peer teaching; the older ones teaching the younger ones.

The teacher goes round the classroom assisting learners with learning difficulties.

Both teachers build their teaching on learners existing knowledge and abilities.

Both teachers acknowledge learners efforts.
