Feeling excluded

I remember as a new teacher being bright eyed and full of ideas. I went to work at my first job and soon found out the real meaning of being alone. I was excluded from any gatherings, parents started treating me really bad and my ideas were always shot down by the statement " that is not how we do it here". I felt that if they had at least heard some of my ideas that the children under our care would have benefitted. This experience did not deter me and I am glad I stuck with teaching.
