Overview
What is a data management plan?
If you look at the research data life cycle again it is easy to tell what a Data Management Plan (DMP) is: it is the document that describes and documents sufficiently the collection, processing, storage, archiving, and publication of research data with a research project.

The
Data Management Plan contains a lot information about the research project,
like
- Administrative information,
- Project description,
- Information on data types, formats and scope,
- Information on metadata and their standards,
- Publication planning,
- Availability of the data,
- How you plan to archive and back up the data, and
- Responsibilities and expenses of data management.
