David McDade

David McDade, an OU graduate, is a Staff Tutor based in Scotland who supports tutors on level 1 computing courses and Cisco networking courses, as well as Practice Tutors on the Digital and Technology Solutions professional degree apprenticeship scheme in England. 

He is a team member for various modules, and has research interests in computing science pedagogy for secondary teachers, and eportfolios and reflective learning for level 1 OU students. 

Outside the OU, David also works for the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) as a qualifications verifier and consultant for Higher National Qualifications in computer science and cyber security. He also volunteers with Code Club Scotland to teach Scratch and Python programming in primary schools.
