Chris Thomson

Chris Thomson is a Staff Tutor in the School of Computing and Communications who recruits and supports Associate Lecturers in their professional development and day-to-day work with students on various modules. 

He is a member of the Web, mobile and cloud technologies module team, with a focus on developing the teaching material around mobile application development, and has developed teaching material in several modules around his specialism in software engineering. Chris also supports OU Practice Tutors in England and is the qualification lead for the Digital and Technology Solutions professional degree apprenticeship. 

His research interests include team working in software engineering, having previously looked in depth at how teams deal with changing requirements in software development projects. He also investigates the scholarship of learning and teaching software engineering, including use of Jupyter Notebook and tutorial provision at the OU.
