Accessibility statements (UK only)

In the United Kingdom, the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 [opens in a new window] require all public sectors to publish an accessibility statement and to review it regularly.

What is an accessibility statement?

An accessibility statement is an online webpage document that explains how accessible your website or mobile app is. In this case, how accessible your Primo VE platform is. UK public sectors will need to publish their accessibility statement on their website or mobile app.

What should an accessibility statement contain?

The statement should indicate how well your Primo VE platform meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). For example, it might state, "This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA."

The statement should list any known accessibility issues that users might encounter while navigating the website or app. Ideally, it should also explain if there are plans to address these issues and when.

The statement should provide users with a way to report accessibility problems they encounter. This allows website owners to identify and fix issues that might not have been previously identified.

The statement should indicate how your Primo VE platform was audited. This can include the pages that were tested and the tools used to audit them.

The statement should include contact details for the person or team responsible for website accessibility. This allows users to directly communicate any concerns or accessibility needs.

Important: UK public sector bodies must apply the Government Digital Service model accessibility statement [opens in a new window], which contains the minimum legal wording for what needs to be included.
